What to do?

North Bradley Peace Memorial Trust Online Centre

Brief History:  The computer club at the hall was started by an enthusiastic group of locals in 2007, since then it has gone through many changes and is now a registered online centre, teaching individuals online basics to ensure that they can benefit from the wonders of the Internet.  Entirely staffed and run by volunteers, it relies on donations and funding. We can also offer other methods of learning and will try to help if we can!

The sessions are run on a Tuesday morning between 10.30 and 12.00, we provide all the equipment necessary for the course work,  if you have your own laptop then you are welcome to bring it along, but we would need to check to see if it is suitable to use.

How It Works :  You phone to book a place (01225 765644), we have a brief chat to discuss with you what is best for your particular needs and can set you up with aLearn My Way account which has excellent step by step tutorials for all ability levels. Of course if and when you get stuck, we’ll be there to lend a hand!

There are four basic areas covered if you decide to use the GO ON course

What is a computer and how do I use it.

What is the internet and how do I use it.

What is e-mail and how you use it.

What do I do next ??

Each session you attend and every module you complete is tracked by the website and there are simple questionnaires at the end if each section to test your understanding. Anything you struggle with we will be there to help you.

How long does it take to complete the course?  Is completely up to you, some people have done it all in six hours, some have taken six weeks!

We welcome any adults of any ability, especially carers!

I am offering my services as a IT tutor. I spoke to one of you at the fete on Saturday explaining I would like to assist. I am unable to Tuesday’s as I work. The person I spoke to said you may be looking to start evening sessions.

  2. We have a Saturday taster session planned for October & just wondered if you might be interested in that?
